School Time
School starts at 8.55 a.m. each weekday morning and finishes at 3.00 p.m. Unless involved in Before School Programmes, we encourage children not to arrive at school prior to 8.30 a.m. Students are to wait at the main entrance before the 8.30 a.m. bell rings.
Pukete are now a “Play first, Eat second” school. Tamariki go straight out to play at morning tea and lunchtime, then come inside to eat before instructions begins.
School Office Hours are 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Friday
Absences
In the interest of child safety, if a child should not be able to attend school then please use our school HERO app, phone the school and leave an absence message on the school answerphone, email the office or text the school.
Where no message is received the school office will endeavour to contact the home for an explanation of absence.
Appointments
If your child needs to attend an appointment please email the office and class teacher with the details. Also sign your child out when you collect them. Call 0800 PUKETE (0800 785 383)
We only release students to adults registered on our Student Management System or by prior arrangement.
Lateness
Students who arrive after the 8.55 am bell must report to the office to sign in. If we have not heard from you and your child is away, or they forget to sign in after arriving late we may contact you to check on where your child is. This is done in the interests of safety.
Car Park
The school car park is a hug and go zone only between the hours of 8.30am-9.15 am and 2.30pm-3.15 pm. Please do not be offended when asked to observe these requests as it is the safety of your children that we are trying to ensure.
