Out of School Music Classes

Tuition in guitar and violin is available from specialist tutors for children in Years 0—6. These lessons take place before school and are dependent on Ministry funding.

Sport and Physical Education

Sport and the teaching of Physical Education skills are a regular part of the school programme. A range of kiwi sports activities have been introduced and are practiced during class and leisure times.

We have teams competing in a range of “Saturday” and interschool sport. The teams are coached by both teachers and parents. The sports include basketball, netball, hockey, touch rugby, volleyball, flippa ball (mini water polo), athletics, cross country running, and swimming. Kelly Sports also offer an after school sporting programme once weekly.

Kapa haka

Our Pukete Kapa haka is a performing arts group lead by Chantelle Tuau, and perform at various school events, special occasions and community organisations.

Our choir meets once a week and is run by Carolyn Smith with help from our music specialist teacher, Hannah Henderson.

Drama & Production

Every year our Year 6 children are involved in presenting the “Year 6 Production,” for example Maui Catches the Sun, Peter Pan, Pukete Idol, Tuishi Pamoja and Choca Block. Te Manawa, our hall, converts to a theatre complete with lights and sound system. The Year 6 children all take part in various rolls ranging from sound technicians to dancers.
